If there's any time of year that's perfect for taking up meditation, it has to be January. Maybe it was one of your New Year's resolutions. Maybe you're trying to develop a better morning routine to ward off seasonal depression. Maybe you're hoping to find a new hobby in the vast emptiness that January lays out for you. 

It feels like everyone I know is getting into meditation right now. We're all hoping to cultivate a little more spaciousness in our minds. Most of us are so busy so much of the day that the thought of having no input for 10-20 minutes seems like a bastion of hope. But it's not always easy. Waking up any earlier than you absolutely have to is a tall order, especially in the cold months. Not to mention feeling like you're failing when you start meditating, wondering what you're supposed to be feeling and why you're not feeling it.
